Well this is where we are all at.........I woke this morning to find I have "Pink eye", I was down and out Tuesday afternoon almost immediately after posting my last post. Fever, body aches, and a queasy stomach. My son was downstairs with the same thing. So I spent Wed and Thurs. right in bed. I couldn't have gotten out of bet if I wanted to. Yesterday I was feeling like I was going to make it:) I did laundry and cleaned a little bit:) I am going to the Dr's on Monday for a sinus infection and my pink eye. My son is still sick with severe congestion in his head with a sore throat and I am just hoping he doesn't end up with ear infection. On a more positive note............
I thought everyone would like to enjoy what I did this morning............My winter wonderland!!:)
The view from my front porch!
The view from my dining room!

The view from my kitchen!

Front porch again! :)

Make this a great day! :)

Update

Ah Honey? I think this is supposed to go on the truck.

I braved these elements and let me tell you it wasn't easy!

I should of stayed home!

Duty calls though and mom made it to the store and back.

Our Thanksgiving dinner :)

Our Thanksgiving entertainment.....I have no idea what these movies are like, we don't usually rent from the store but desperate times call for it. I grabbed what seemed to be family friendly . Feel free to tell me otherwise :) Here's the list.........
Noel
Fred Clause
Noel (Different that the one above)
Kung Fu Panda
The Pirates who don't do anything
Snowglobe
Moondance Alexander
Santa Clause 3
Elf
The Water Horse
The Christmas Blessing

Thanksgiving Cancled :(

Well, it looks as if our Thanksgiving plans are going to be canceled. My husband has been sick for two weeks with a severe sore throat, cold, body ache thing, (and he still has it )and last night my youngest son was up all night with the stomach flu. NOT PRETTY !! So my Thanksgiving shopping list has changed a bit. Here it is............................
1. Popsicles
2. ginger ale
3. Gatorade
4. chicken noodle soup
5. saltines
6. Clorox disinfecting wipes
7. a bunch of movies from the movie store and the library

The Plan:
Get a roaring fire going in the fireplace, pop in a movie, wrap up in a warm blanket, and continue to add wood to fire and movies to the DVD/VCR player.

I am thankful for Tylenol, Motrin, all of the above items, and that my family will be together for Thanksgiving :)

P.S. Weather update:
We are supposed to get 5 inches of snow. Currently the snow is howling by our windows horizontally, and the snow plow has gone by twice. :) Looks like winter is here.

Weather Update

It's a slow blogging week, and that is why I haven't been posting. I guess my life is pretty dull huh?
Well here's the current weather 0 degrees, and yes we have snow on the ground. Thank the Lord for wood. I love wood and I love trees, and I love them in my fireplace.:)
My husband had his plow put on, because Saturday we had blizzard conditions.
The wind blew for two days, and so did the snow.
We didn't get alot, but the ground is white.
Thanksgiving plans are underway and I am heading to the store today, making the menu, and cooking some things ahead.
I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving.

Birthday Suprise

Acelia was 10 on Veterans Day. One of her gifts from "Meme"was this cake decorating kit. She loves it. The next day we tried it out. The cupcake holders are silicone in the shape of ice cream cones.

We had to experiment with them till we knew how full to fill the cones. We filled some too full and the tops were too heavy for the bottoms. We finally got it right.

And then came the fun part!!

We used chocolate sprinkles, and all sorts of different toppings for our cones.

They were certainly approved by all her brothers! Thanks "Meme"

A New Adventure

Well I'm back. I had to take a short blogging break due to several different things....one being I was ready to jump into the political arena and discuss the direction the country is taking, but I was afraid my keyboard would burst into flames due to all I had to say, and I would no longer have the use of my computer.....two we are embarking on a new adventure..................this.........

Horse back lessons started a week ago, Acelia's 10th birthday was yesterday, and she had her second lesson. She would like to ride English style and eventually show. She is taking lessons with her three other cousins and her brother.

I think she is going to love this....she smiles from ear to ear while taking her lesson.

Here was the high point of yesterdays lesson! I have also been very busy with my camera. I have been going to some of the games to support my niece and take pictures for her. Their team went to state finals last Saturday and I went with my camera. Unfortunately they lost a very well played game that went into overtime. It was disappointing for the girls, but they did a great job and played hard. The weather was misty and the field slippery, so that worked against them. Maybe next year!

Ok, I have been getting the comments for months on my resemblance to Sarah Palin, so my nephew and I thought it would be funny to dress up and encourage people to get out and vote on Halloween, so we did. Can you believe we actually had one woman that wouldn't give my nephew any candy and told me she wasn't voting for me! I kid you not!!! She was very rude to us. We had fun anyway :)

Mr. Lincoln accompanied us. He was very well received and received lots of candy.
