Yesterday we tapped 5 trees, so we set out today to check if we had any sap. It was in the 40's today, so we thought there would be a good chance of having some. My camera did do it's best to cooperate, but the snow looks pink! It was really bright out there with all the white snow, so I think that may have something to do with it!
You can see the sap around the spout that we put in. This is the only tree that has given us sap so far. 
There was about 2" in the bucket.
Well time to head back to the house................
It was great to get outside and enjoy the warm weather and get some exercise! Acelia had a good time!
Penne had a good time too!!
This view always amazes me. When I stand on my front porch and look down into the field, it doesn't seem that far. When I get all the way down to the back of the field, I can't believe how far it actually is!!!

What a fun adventure out into the woods! I love maple syrup. When I went on vacation to the east coast this past October, I brought back a gallon. :0)
