I must say, my love for pumpkin reached new heights when I stumbled upon
Pumpkin Pie oatmeal last fall! Then I found this recipe for Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Squares!! I am loving these small "Sugar Pie" pumpkins that I grew this year for my oatmeal.
I just quarter them and roast them in the oven, cool, and puree them in my food processor.
Quick, easy, and way cheaper than buying organic pumpkin!
It takes about an hour on 375 for two pumpkins.
The color is amazing!!
So my days have been filled with canning and freezing and picking from the gardens.
My mother has been right here everyday helping me. We have been watching the Victorian Kitchen and Garden series on Youtube in-between pressure cooker batches! Things are really winding down here on the farm. Our hay is tucked away for the winter. The horses and cows will be well fed. Our chickens are just about ready to process and there are just a few more things to get ready for winter. The fire wood is cut and piled and the wood boiler has been cleaned and is ready to go. I've built several fires in the fireplace early in the morning and then I let it go out in the afternoon.
I'm looking forward to Buttons curled up on my lap while I crochet and embroidery.
My latest project of course is my afghan but I am going to be working on these for Acelia for Christmas. She picked the "Winter Cabin", "Ice Skating Afternoon", and "Walk In The Woods".

Mmmmm... that pumpkin looks goooood! Those ornament kits are adorable. I remember making felt ornaments like that years ago - only I didn't have kits to work from. I guess that makes me old. ;-)
Oh YUM!!! I just checked out the recipes you shared on this post. I think I may be stopping for some sugar pumpkins at the farm next week! :-)
