Walking on Sunshine

Ok, Day 1 and I walked 2 miles.

For those of you reading my blog wondering: "What is she talking about?"

I am participating in Mrs. H's Walking on Sunshine. We are walking

for 21 days and hopefully will develop a

great habit.!

Weekend catch up

We had a great weekend! I stayed home Saturday and cleaned while the guys worked in our cellar finishing the "man room" , where they will be tying flies, reloading, and doing some woodworking.

I made and apple pie (that turned out great), and some brownies (that didn't turn out well because I used egg replacer)! We had a fire going all day which was nice, because it was overcast and windy. Very cold!!

Timothy asked me to take some pictures of Penne in the field, in the afternoon, and while doing so she pointed out one of our runaway pheasants!

We have an hour and a half drive to church on Sunday and these pictures are just some of the scenery.

Family Outing

We packed a lunch and took off for an all day field trip into the wilderness. It was a beautiful day with a few showers. We had a great time. (Even though we lost the brakes on our truck, drove back to town, then headed for home, and ended up in our van!)

Scott was the first to spot the partridge, but you know how it is when someone else sees something and you don't! He was the only one that could see it! The rest of the kids and I looked, and looked, but just couldn't see it! So, no bird shot here!

You all know what this is right? Yes, its that creature that screams throughout the night and holds me up in a tree stand! The coyote!

Why can't I seem to escape these things? They are showing up everywhere I go!

So I kicked my protector and my first born out of the truck to go kill it! They didn't get it!

Penne did such a good job! This is her first experience with these birds.

We saw a beaver dam and a Blue Heron on our way out of the woods.

No moose though. Considering the start to our day we all had a good time.

We ended up at a Chinese restaurant, can you end the day any better!

What's cooking ?

I was at it again yesterday, cooking!

I started out making Mrs H's Chicken in a basket and ended up with these also :)

I found the recipe on the back of my Phillo sheet's box

I unrolled one of the dough sections and cut them into 9 three inch squares.

I pressed them into a muffin tin

added 1 tsp. of peanut butter

10 or 12 chocolate chips

and 3 miniature marshmallows on top

I baked them for 12 min. at 425

Yummy!!

Next I went on to make Mrs H's creamed chicken in a basket. I wasn't able to find Phillo cups in my local market, so I used the sheet and cut them to fit in my muffin tin. It worked out great.
This was a great and easy dish to make. I wasn't sure about the pimentos, but you can't leave them out they make the dish! :)




I made Marlboro Man's favorite sandwich with spicy potato wedges for dinner. It was easy to make and my guy's loved it. (I did too:)

Friday we are heading out to do some bird and deer hunting . The boys and Scott will be shooting with their guns and bows, me with my camera! :)

My Sister-in-Law

It was a beautiful fall day a few days ago, so we went to visit my Sister-in-Law. She amazes me! She can grow anything, and I mean anything, in any type of soil. With the cold weather here, there isn't too much left in bloom (not at my house anyway:) But being at my Sister in Laws, I knew I could find some pretty flowers to take pictures of.

I don't know what type of flower this is. I'd call it a black eyed susan. Looks something like a daisy though.

I don't know what this is either! :) I can hear her now, frustrated, reading this post and yelling the names! :)


A yellow daisy?

This is beautiful and delicate, but I don't know this one either. Now, remember at the top of this post when I said she could grow anything anywhere? Well, I wasn't kidding!! Take a look at their chimney!
