Still Snowing!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, could someone tell me spring is coming? It was snowing here today, and it's freezing outside, not to mention the 5 feet of snow still on the ground!!
I am posting some pictures of last summer. (Maybe that will help my mood :) Jackie sent them to me last week.

Last summer, Jackie took David on a hike. They decided to tackle Mt. Kineo, and they didn't ask me for good reason! I'm afraid of heights!:)

They had to take a boat over to the base of the mountain.

Lets see if David is still smiling at the top!

I'm not sure if this was at the bottom on the way up or the bottom on the way down. Lets say the bottom on the way up! He looks like he is ready to tackle this mountain.

I guess they made it, and they are BOTH smiling!! Looks like they found a friendly hiker to take their picture, either that or a friendly bear :o !

The views are beautiful! I enjoy looking at the pictures of them. :)

David had a great time!

He brought home a rock and labled it Kineo and put the date and who he hiked with.

They had a really fun time. Thank you Jackie for taking David, otherwise he would of had to observe from the bottom :)

Amazing Friends!!!!!!

It has now been a year since we moved into our new home. As I look back on the whole process it was worth the wait and all the work. (and tears) :) I was thinking of the weekend we moved in and the help we had that weekend. Friday afternoon our appliances were delivered and Scott and I were standing in our unfinished living room discouraged! We wanted so desperately to move in the following day, but we were overwhelmed by all that need to be done. Little did we know that our friends Jackie and J.D. were coming to move us in!!

We all put smiles on our faces, filled up buckets with warm, soapy water and Murphy's Oil Soap, grabbed some rags, and set to wiping cabinets, walls, floors, and beams.
My sister in law Darcy was so nice to come and help us out too.

Scott was very happy to have J.D there to help out. J.D. was in a bad snowmobiling accident and was still recovering from it. He smashed his knee, and the recovery process had been very slow and very painful. Yet he put aside the pain and didn't complain, and worked all day!! He is amazing and my boys have learned so much from him.
Getting ready to work!!

Hanging Lights

Getting the washer and dryer installed

We stopped for a feast that Jackie brought. Sandwiches, chips, fruit, and soda. Not only did they come to work , but they brought lunch too!! :)
Timothy and J.D. were getting ready for an Oreo licking race.

KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't remember who won, I don't know that anyone does, but they had alot of fun and we were in stitches! :)

Macy had the upstairs covered as far as making sure everyone stayed working. She did allow an occasional coffee break! :)

Neva figured if Macy had things under control she could just relax and enjoy her day!

MeMe showed up that day with a housewarming gift for Acelia. She made this and quilted it too!

They worked till dark. Scott and J.D. are tiling the wall under the cabinets.

Mission accomplished!

Happy and grateful to our friends and family!!

Jackie had some ideas of her own on how to end the day! BROWNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just the smell of those cooking said, "Were home!"

The Harding children eating brownies and ice cream in their new home!!

Thank you so much Jackie and J.D. for your hard work and all your help that weekend. We wont forget it. :) (I think Acelia needs to go to bed! :)

Easter

Our Easter celebration was nice, we had our pastor and wife and our dear friends J. D. and Jackie over for dinner. We made home made bread and Acelia made this cute snail! I thought she did a great job!!

She also frosted the cake and added some green coconut :) You can't see in the picture, but the frosting was pink.

Here is the finished product. Thank you Kelli for sharing the recipe with us.

Acelia and Jackie:)

J.D. was gracious enough to carve the ham for us. :)

Scalloped potatoes hot from the oven. I topped these off with fried onion rings :)

I really wanted to do a spinach salad but spinach was 3.99 a bag !!! So I opted for the good old tossed salad with mandarin oranges, kumquats, and toasted almonds. I did make Kelli's dressing and everyone loved it. Thanks again Kelli. :)
Acelia trying out Jackie's "Happy Feet". I guess they work, she looks pretty happy! :)

We had a great time chatting, and visiting with our friends. We missed my mom as she is vacationing in the sunny south. :) I hope she brings some of that warm weather home with her!

Acelia is learning to crochet with a tiny needle so she is practicing making a chain.

Have a great day!

Father Daugher Retreat 2007

Yesterday I shared some pictures of the 2007 Father Daughter Retreat. Today I would like to share some more with you. Here are Scott and Acelia in front of the Butterfly Sanctuary. They had a great time looking at all the flowers and eating lemon ice :)

High Tea was quite the affair! Scott and Acelia practice with plenty of tea parties! Scott spent a lot of time on line looking up how to behave at a proper tea :) what spoon to use, how to hold the cup, etc. It is not proper to lift your pinkie when you sip tea. :o

Here they are waiting to be served. The flower center piece was so beautiful. I will try to find a picture of it to post on Monday. All the girls had to look under their teacup to see if they had a pansy sticker. Whoever had the pansy sticker took home the center piece. Acelia had the sticker!! She was so happy. The fathers and daughters were able to keep the tea cups, and their picnic baskets from the previous day.

After High Tea, all the fathers and daughters went outside to have a professional picture taken. They sent a CD full of pictures to all the fathers and daughters.
Well Acelia and I are off to do some baking for Easter. We are making a Coconut cake from http://http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/2007/05/ingredients.html It looks so good!! We can't wait to get started. We are have Easter dinner with two of our dear friends.
The menu:
Baked Ham with pineapple glaze
Scalloped Potatoes
Green bean casserole
Homemade rolls
Coconut cake
I hope you all have a blessed Easter. We will be watching The Passion Of The Christ tonight with the kids.
Have a wonderful weekend

Father Daughter Retreat

This was last year at the 2007 Father Daughter Retreat that Vision Forum does every year. This was a life changing experience for my daughter and husband. Little did we know that the rest of the family would be changed through this experience. The bond that formed between Acelia and her daddy that weekend was so special. The event took place March 30 - April 1.

The first day they arrive they give the fathers and daughters a picnic basket filled with sandwiches, drinks, and goodies, and a blanket to spread on the grass. A time to unwind, relax, and talk with each other.

They stayed at Mountain Creek Inn in Pine Mountain Georgia. Quite a change from our climate this time of year.

Pretty view! It doesn't look much different from our area, when it isn't covered with snow :)

Scott came home and wanted to invest in lots of flowering shrubs for our property :) I can see why.

They have so many trails with beautiful flowers, they also have a bird sanctuary, butterfly sanctuary, and a pond with turtles!

What a beautiful time in a beautiful place. Tomorrow I will share pictures with you of the "High Tea" which they attended, and a picture of Acelia and two of her role models.

Have a wonderful Easter.

Happy Spring!!!!

Just thought you would like to view what spring time in Maine really looks like! :)

This is my flower garden today 3/20/08. Lets take a look at a picture from a previous post

This was taken March 7th! Not a big improvement here! :o I think the verse of the day needs to be Philippians 4:11 " Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, there with to be content." :)

So out I went yesterday to the store and purchased Lilac Blossoms and Midnight Jasmine candles for today. I wasn't about to let the weather get me down!!

I also have a spring time recipe to share with you. It comes from my dear friend Jackie. She loves to bake, and try out new recipes.

Green Apple Dip

2 pkg. of cream cheese

1 cup of brown sugar

1 tsp. of vanilla extract

container of party peanuts

Put all ingredients into a bowl..........................................

.....................................and mix till really smooth

Slice ALOT of green apples and sprinkle the top of dip with peanuts. Omit them if you don't like them and just eat it plain. Make sure you refresh the peanuts when you see they have all diappeared :) Thanks for sharing Jackie :)

Try not to think of the calories :o I'm lighting my candles and eating my dip, and I'm not looking out my windows!!!!!!!!

Have a great first day of spring!!!
