This is our new Log home. We have been here for almost a year. It is a very cozy home complete with a fire place for those chilly winter days . We have a fire going most of the time and the tea kettle on. (coffee pot for Scott ;)
The view from our front porch. It is absolutely beautiful all year round, anytime of day!!

My husband brought me to this lot to check it out before we bought it. I could hardly make my way through the thick growth of trees. The view was in no way visible (unless you climbed the trees!!) I thought he was crazy but it turns out he wasn't!! We started to harvest the trees on the property and this is the view that I saw!!! The area right in front of our house is about 5 acres. We are going to have our work cut out for us turning this into a field .

Here is the chicken coop Scott and the boy's built last summer. Right now it houses our 7 layers and one rooster. They are just starting to pick up egg production. We are collecting 4-5 eggs a day. It seems the warmer the days are, the more eggs we get.

Our rooster is a Bantam named Mr. Slippers. He has been behaving himself so far. (with certain members of the family) David had an encounter with him two day's ago. He tried to go out again today and make friends with Mr. Slippers but Mr. Slippers just ruffled his feathers and looked at him cockeyed!! David decided to stay out of the coop for good!!!

Your new log cabin is beautiful and it sounds so warm and cozy inside! We don't get much snow in Texas and I really miss it. I also loved seeing your chickens, Mr. Slippers sounds like quite the character. :0)
Hugs,
Kelli
Thanks for stoping by Kelli and for your help. I used to live in Houston and missed the snow too! Especially at Christmas.
