In an earlier post, I posted some pictures of boiling sap down on my stove. Thank goodness my mom saw that post and called me up.
As the water is evaporating it is sticky, and left a sticky mess on my lights above my stove , the beams and woodwork. :0
Tip for the day..........Don't, I repeat, Don't boil sap down on your stove. The mess is cleaned up and all is well. I thought is was just water that was evaporating but I guess there is some sugar in it. :)
Oh in other news............... It's really foggy here and the sun is trying to come through! There is a bare patch of gravel in my driveway!!!!!!!:) (Sigh) Spring is on the way!!:0

Love it! There is an older couple in our church who make maple syrup. They have a little sugar shack next to the house and a large stove that looks almost identical to that. It works great and it smells heavenly in there :-)!
Your husband and son did a fantastic job on the stove. I am sure it will work real well.
I wouldn't have believed that you would end up with residue in your kitchen from boiling the sap. Thanks for the warning.
I see you still have lots of snow!
I bet your ready for Spring!!!
